Maura Falfán

Artista mexicana; estudio en el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda", Ciudad de México y mfa, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, Nueva York, eua actualmente vive y trabaja en la Ciudad de México y Nueva York.

Ha desarrollado un cuerpo de trabajo alrededor de la idea del vestigio como un signo que se refiere a una ausencia, entendido como una marca, huella o gesto, el vestigio ha ocupado el lugar de una cicatriz, una ausencia, y más recientemente: la presencia de lo inexistente.

Mexican artist; studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking "La Esmeralda," Mexico City, Mexico; also completed her graduate work at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York City, usa; She currently lives and works in Mexico City and New York City.
She has developed a body of work around the idea of the vestige as a sign that refers to an absence, understood as a mark, trace or gesture; the vestige has taken the place of a scar, an absence, and more recently: the presence of the non-existent.
